Consultation has concluded

Consultation continues on the traffic issues in Eastwood. Council seeks your opinion on the installation of traffic calming/control treatments.

Consultation so far...

This the third stage of this consultation that Council is undertaking to address resident concerns of cut-through and speeding traffic. Council is asking residents to provide feedback on the traffic calming schemes that are recommended to address these concerns.

In the earlier stages of this consultation Council received responses from 21 per cent of properties within the study area asking Council to explore solutions to the traffic concerns. A public meeting was held on Wednesday 25 March at the Eastwood Community Centre and residents representing approximately 23 properties attended this meeting.

At the meeting the pros, cons and viability of various options for traffic calming and control devices were discussed, along with traffic and crash data. This information is included below.

The issues

Residents advised Council that the speed and volume of cut-through traffic in their neighbourhood are of most concern to them.

Considering the feedback so far, what traffic treatments are appropriate, and what traffic treatments were supported by residents at the public meeting, the suggested solutions are included below for your comment.

Different people have different perspectives on both the extent of traffic issues and the most suitable treatment(s) to address them.

It is therefore crucial that you take this opportunity to get involved and provide an indication of your support or otherwise for the various options being offered.

Council has included funding in the 2015/16 budget for construction work should any be identified by this process.

What's your opinion

Your responses will assist in determining what (if any) traffic calming or control devices are constructed in the Eastwood area.

Please submit the online survey below prior to 5 pm Friday 7 August 2015.
