Update

The Proposed Declaration of Amery Lane as a Public Road engagement closed on 28 October 2013.

In accordance with Council Resolution (C9300) and Section 210 of the Local Government Act 1999, the Administration commenced a consultation process by engaging with any descendants of original owners of the land, local residents and the wider community regarding the proposal.

The majority of the respondents to the consultation process were in support of the proposal including a response from Ms Ruth Lang, a great granddaughter of one of the original owners, abandoning any interest in subject land.

Noting that the wider community were generally in support of the proposal, and that there were no objections from people who provided an address or established a legal interest in the subject land, Council resolved at its meeting on 25 February 2014 (C9607) to declare Allotment 41 of DP 724 a public road and name the road “Amery Lane.”

Subsequently, a notice was published in the Government Gazette on 7 August 2014 finalising the declaration process.
