The pump track is currently located at Langman Recreation Reserve on Waterfall Gully Road, Burnside.

Background

On 26 September 2023 Council resolved ongoing rotation of the pump track between five locations: Penfold Park, Langman Recreation Reserve, Symons & Symons Reserve paved area, Miller Reserve courts, and Linden Avenue Reserve car park.

#rideburnside

The ‘all wheels - all ages’ pump track is a free recreational facility for all wheeled sports including bikes of all types, scooters, skateboards and the very cool balance bike for toddlers.

Open from sunrise to sunset everyday.

BYO bikes, skateboard, roller skates, scooters, balance bikes etc.

Safety stuff – some equipment is not suitable for use (3 wheels, go-karts, motorised equipment, bikes with training wheels), wear protective gear and helmet, keep distance between riders, daylight hours only, slippery when wet, parent/guardian supervision required.

On 12 November 2019 Council resolved to purchase a portable pump track and conduct a 12 month rotating trial across four locations: Civic Centre (cnr Portrush Road and Greenhill Road); Newland Reserve, Erindale; Miller Reserve, Linden Park; Kensington Park Reserve, Kensington Park.

The #rideburnside trial has now concluded. The track is now in storage awaiting a Council decision on its future.

A report will be presented to Council at a meeting on 13 April 2021 on the results of the trial and the potential for introducing new locations for the track in the future. Two new locations for the pump track include Langman Recreation Reserve in Burnside, and Penfold Park in Magill.

    The 12 month pump track rotating trial continues across four locations: Kensington Park Reserve, Newland Park, Miller Reserve and the Civic Centre.

    It is now Newland Park's turn!

    #rideburnside will be relocated to Newland Park on Hallett Road/Newland Road in Erindale, on Tuesday 16 June. The pump track will be located on the middle two tennis courts at Newland Park for three months (16 June to 14 September).

    In her fortnightly 'Burnside Highlights' Mayor Monceaux challenged the community to beat the 62,313 loops record set at the Civic Centre site since the pump track arrived on 29 Februrary. Over to you Burnside!

    Come down to the Civic Centre car park on the corner Portrush Road and Greenhill Road (behind the Council building) to try it out.

    It's FREE to ride - BYO wheels.

    Open from sunrise to sunset everyday.

    There's a cafe for food and drinks (weekdays only) and toilets in the Community Centre (open 7 days).
