Background

In line with Council Resolution C11706 (copy attached under 'documents' to the right), this joint initiative, first raised in May 2018, seeks to resolve an administrative anomaly along the Local Government boundary between the City of Burnside (COB) and Adelaide Hills Council (AHC), specifically relating to land parcels on McBeath Drive.

Recent Developments

In late October 2025, Council was advised that the Commission approved an engagement and inquiry plan on 16 September 2025, with community consultation now underway.

Consultation and Next Steps

The Boundaries Commission has provided details that outline consultation activities tailored to the minor nature of the proposal, consistent with Commission guidelines. The consultation period runs from 29 October to 26 November 2025.

The engagement and inquiry plan may be viewed on the Commission’s website under the Engagement and Inquiry section here: McBeath Drive Boundary Change Proposal

Maps including the current COB and AHC boundary and proposed boundary are included under 'documents' on the right hand side.

Residents are invited to provide feedback on the proposal via:

Email: boundaries.commission@sa.gov.au

Postal Address: SA Local Government Boundaries Commission, GPO Box 2329, ADELAIDE SA 5001

Following the consultation period, any feedback received will be incorporated into the investigation findings, and the Commission’s staff will prepare an inquiry report with recommendations for the Commission’s consideration.
