***UPDATE***
At their meeting on 16 July 2024, the Council reviewed the results of this community engagement and resolved:
That Council:
1. Adopts the draft City of Burnside Dog and Cat Management Plan 2024-2029, contained in Attachment 1; and
2. Forwards the document to the Dog and Cat Management Board for endorsement.
3. Conducts an Information or briefing session, after State Government has published the survey results following their consultation on Clarifying current cat management laws, on the City of Burnside establishing a Cat Management by-law, possible criteria to be included and the possible cost implications.

The City of Burnside Dog and Cat Management Plan has been reviewed and Council is seeking community feedback on the draft plan. The Dog and Cat Management Plan 2024-2028 will guide the management of dogs and cats within the council area for the next five years.
This draft plan contains recommendations for a wide range of actions to be undertaken by the City of Burnside to encourage and assist all residents in responsible cat and dog ownership.
