The master plan will provide a strategic vision for the future activation of the precinct that is evidence-based; considers community feedback; current and future demographics; emerging trends; and community needs.

Extending from Maesbury Street to Bretwalder Street on Kensington Road, the Marryatville Precinct features a mix of residential housing, a church, supermarket, a school, petrol stations, hotel, theatre, cafes and other small businesses. A precinct master plan would set out opportunities for improved greening, landscapes, streetscapes, traffic and parking management, and people movement to support the diverse social, business and cultural heritage of the area.

A master plan will also provide a basis for scheduling works in a financially sustainable manner and making future applications for state, commonwealth, or other funding.
