Update

The City of Burnside sought feedback from the community on the Draft Sponsorship and Donation Policy from 3 February – 3 March.

The Sponsorship and Donation Policy outlines how the City of Burnside administers sponsorship and donation, by the corporate sector, private individuals or community groups and by Council in its support of related and worthwhile private or public sector activities.

A sponsorship provides a contribution in return for an expected benefit where as a donation does not have return benefits expected.

Sponsorship and donations are undertaken or entered into, in order to help achieve business or community objectives.

This Policy aims to encourage a strong, resourceful and cohesive community. The City of Burnside wishes to enhance the use of its community and cultural hubs in order to enliven activity and to support the sharing and celebration of cultural and social diversity through local events and programs.

Underpinning the funding opportunities is a community development approach that seeks to empower the community to self-organise, reach out and connect with each other and to identify community needs and opportunities to enrich the community as a whole.

This Policy was adopted on 28 March 2017. To view the adopted Policy, please see the Document Library above right.
