Consultation has concluded
** UPDATE **
Demolition of all redundant structures has occurred at 31 Laurel Avenue, and the site has been levelled. Construction on the new raised garden beds and surrounding landscaping will commence in July 2021.
The Rotary Club of Burnside was successful in their application for a grant from the Federal Government (Stronger Communities Programme Round 6) which will assist to purchase 3 bench seats, a picnic setting and a cubby house for the community garden. These items will be installed in July/ August 2021.
BACKGROUND:
We contacted residents in March 2020 regarding the idea of a community garden at 31 Laurel Avenue, Linden Park, and other ideas for the site.
There was strong community feedback to support 31 Laurel Avenue being used as a community garden.
Work on this project has now progressed to the design stage and we are seeking your feedback on the concept design.
This proposed design has been produced in consultation with a community Working Reference Group, which consists of 58 residents, and landscape architects.
Construction work for this project is scheduled to occur in the 2020/2021 financial year.
