Consultation has concluded
The Marryatville shopping precinct on Kensington Road straddles two local government areas and four suburbs. The Cities of Norwood Payneham & St Peters and Burnside have partnered to deliver a master plan for the precinct to provide a strategic vision for future activation of the Marryatville Precinct that is evidenced-based; considers community feedback; current and future demographics; emerging trends; and community needs.
Extending from Maesbury Street to Bretwalder Street on Kensington Road, the Marryatville Precinct features a mix of residential housing, a church, supermarket, a school, petrol stations, hotel, theatre, cafes and other small businesses. A precinct master plan would set out opportunities for improved greening, landscapes, streetscapes, traffic and parking management, and people movement to support the diverse social, business and cultural heritage of the area. A master plan will also provide a basis for scheduling works in a financially sustainable manner and making future applications for State, Commonwealth, or other funding.
The two Councils are seeking feedback from the community help to shape the future of the precinct.
Below you can Drop a Pin on a map and Give your Feedback on the precinct.
Come and chat with the project team at a Drop-in Session at the Regal Theatre on Monday 18 September, 5 pm - 7 pm.
A draft precinct plan will be developed based on this feedback. Community feedback will be sought on the draft plan it in early 2024.
