Burnside’s newest resident needs a name.

The winner of the 'Name the Yultu*' competition was announced at the official opening of the Kensington Gardens Project by Mayor Monceaux on 17 January 2022.
A judging panel that included artist Alan Sumner, Mayor Anne Monceaux and Council Member Grant Piggott chose 'Anura' from 15 entries.
The winning name was submitted by Narayan, 9, of Kensington Park, and a student at Pembroke School.
A yultu* has found a forever home in Kensington Wama – but it has no name. Yultu is the Kaurna word for frog.
Our yultu would like a name with style. Some of its favourite celebrity names are Trevor, Politoed, Frog Prince and Michael Perry (our frog admits that last one is a place and not a person, but likes it anyway).
Tell us what you think its name should be and WIN four tickets to the Regal Theatre for any movie, and any session; plus the winning name will feature on a plaque in the Kensington Wama nature play space.
The competition is open for children aged 12 and under who live or attend school within the City of Burnside.
T&Cs (the boring but important stuff)
The competition is open to children 12 years and under.
Entrants must reside in the City of Burnside; or, if not a resident, attend a school located within the City.
Prize includes four tickets to the Regal Theatre for any movie and any session; and the winning name on a plaque displayed near the yultu.
Winners will be determined by a panel of judges, with the judges’ decision being final.
Council will contact the winner’s parent/guardian by telephone to advise of their winning entry.
The winner must be available for a media photo opportunity at Kensington Wama nature playground in January 2022; with the image and the winner’s first name and age included in an edition of the Adelaide East Herald newspaper.
