Consultation has concluded

Webb Street Reserve, Rose Park

*** UPDATE ***

In October, Council conducted two consultation sessions with the Rose Park Preschool and one with the Rose Park Joey Scouts, followed by a community consultation session on 6 November. These sessions provided valuable feedback on the community's vision for the future of the playspace. The attendees were highly engaged and participated in an open and respectful discussion, actively listening to one another's ideas and collaboratively generating innovative solutions.

We were also pleased to have members of the Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP) Panel in attendance. They offered insightful recommendations on how to make the playspace more inclusive and welcoming for people of all abilities, ensuring our design reflects a commitment to accessibility and inclusivity.

Council is currently working on bringing all these ideas together into a concept design, which we will present back to the community in mid-February.

Council is planning to upgrade this playground and would like your input into the design

The opportunity

Council’s Playground Replacement Action Plan 2014-2024 has prioritised a number of playgrounds within our City for upgrade in upcoming financial years, including the playground in Webb Street Reserve.

To assist in developing a design for this playground, Council seeks to collaborate with local community members, nearby schools and relevant groups to co-design this play space.

Co-design is a participatory approach to consultation, where community members work directly with Council in designing outcomes. This is the best way to ensure that you have a real say in the design of your local spaces and facilities.

Council will host two co-design workshops to gather your ideas and to seek your feedback on a proposed design.

Pre-workshop feedback

The aim of the first co-design workshop will be to gather your ideas for the site.

To prepare for this workshop, Council would like to ask you some high-level questions about the playground.

How can I get involved?

You can participate by giving some initial feedback and confirming you would like to attend the workshops proposed for:

• November 2024 - to gather your ideas for the site;

• February 2025 - to present the proposed design based on your input for further feedback.

Please express your interest in participating on the below survey and provide your email address to receive a detailed invitation for the workshops.

When will construction begin?

Subject to Council endorsement of budget, works on this playground are anticipated to occur in 2025 or 2026. Construction time frames will be communicated to local residents before installation works commence.
