Road and Traffic Management Policy

Council is responsible for the care and control of all public roads within the municipality (termed Local Roads) other than Arterial Roads, which fall under the responsibility of the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) to the extent of any declaration by the Commissioner of Highways. Council works collaboratively with DPTI regarding issues involving the interaction of Council streets with DPTI roads.

This Policy is to provide guidance on aspects of managing road traffic and other activities within the road reserve with the exception of regulatory functions.
