Update

The Communications and Community Engagement Strategy was open for community consultation from 11 March to 3 April and was adopted by Council on 12 May 2015.

The community engagement feedback was collated at the end of the consultation period. None of the respondents objected to the Strategy and their suggested inclusions, where appropriate, have been made within this document.

The Communications and Community Engagement Strategy expresses Council’s commitment to open, participatory and transparent engagement that forms the foundation of responsible government. The Strategy details a Communications Objectives Action Plan and provides a City of Burnside Engagement Framework that will be delivered operationally.

This Strategy relates to the Be the Future of Burnside Strategic Community Plan 2012-2025. The relevant provisions include, “our community is actively engaged and involved in shaping the City’s future” and “an empowered Council and Administration that is visionary and innovative in meeting community needs.”
