In response to requests from the community, Council will conduct a trial of a new dog on lead area in the north west corner of Kensington Wama for a seven month period, under limited times, from 1 April 2024*.
The trial dog on lead area on the corner of The Parade and West Terrace is all land within the area bound by red as outlined in the diagram below and will be effective 1 April 2024 to 13 December 2024, Monday to Friday, between 8 am and 4 pm, during school terms.
* Council makes this declaration pursuant to Section 246(3)(e) of the Local Government Act 1999 and Clause 5.2 of By-Law 5 (Dogs).
What happens next?
Council will receive a report before the end of June 2024 that presents the community feedback received and recommendations for any amendments to this declaration.
