Update
Council consulted with the local community in 2018 regarding the Fergusson Square playground and now wishes to advise of the outcome.
Consultation feedback
Council consulted 194 properties mid last year regarding the long term planning of this playground, seeking input from the local community on the features to be installed.
The responses received have guided Council on the design for the redevelopment of the playground located in Fergusson Square, Toorak Gardens.
Playground features
The play features which will be installed include:
- Climbing frame
- Swing
- Cubby house with slide
- Trampoline.
The size of the playground will be similar to the existing, as requested by respondents through the community consultation process. A concept plan for the playground is below.
The playground will be moved slightly from its original position in order to protect tree roots and to ensure the branches of the existing tree does not encroach on equipment.
A pathway has been designed to provide easy access to all elements of the playground to make it more inclusive of all abilities.
What happens next?
Preliminary works are scheduled to start on Monday 6 May and are expected to be completed by Friday 28 June 2019.
Construction hours will be Monday to Friday between 7 am and 5 pm.
