Consultation has concluded

Background

The Regal Theatre, owned and managed by City of Burnside, is a heritage listed iconic attraction in our community.

After finalising its future concept plan, we are ready to move to detailed design. Importantly the detailed design phase includes opportunities for accessibility and functional improvements to the interior of the building and plaza.

We want to hear from our community members living with disabilities, their families, and supporters with lived experience. Your input is invaluable in creating an enjoyable experience for everyone who visits The Regal.

What is happening?

Burnside Council has partnered with JFA Purple Orange to hold a community workshop on Wednesday 28 February 2024 5 pm to 6.30 pm.

The workshop will be held in person at the Council Civic Centre and online via live stream.

Disability project officers, with lived experience, and advocates for disability inclusion from various backgrounds, will facilitate the workshop.

If you are interested in attending, please register via the below link with your name and preferred method of contact.

Accessibility at the workshop:

  • Live Captions on live stream.
  • Room and information accessibility guide/map will be provided.
  • A note taker or support person is available.
  • Please make contact at least one business day prior to the workshop if you would like us to provide you with plain text documents for the presentation.
  • There will be both electronic versions and hard copies of all materials.
  • You will be able to find a complete list of accessibility options and advise us of any other accessibility requirements at registration.

If there are any barriers to attendance, please get in touch and we can see how we can support.

Workshop attendees will receive tickets to a movie session of their choosing at the Regal Theatre to thank them for their time.
