Council is reviewing playgrounds within our City to align them with future community needs.

The opportunity

Council's Playground Replacement Action Plan 2014 - 2024 has identified a number of playgrounds within our City to be reviewed to consider their future use and the community needs for these spaces.

To assist in the long term planning for the redevelopment of our playgrounds, Council is seeking your advice on this playground and opinion on what equipment should be installed.

The existing play equipment consists of a double swing set, an interactive play platform and a spring rocker on pine chip mulch.

Potential features

Council seeks your opinion on the features you would like in the playground. These include equipment for:

  • swinging
  • natural play
  • rocking
  • sliding
  • spinning
  • balancing
  • climbing
  • interactive elements
  • themed play
  • cubbies.

Your responses to this survey will guide Council on planning for future upgrades of the playground.

    In September and October 2016 Council sought community advice and opinion on what equipment should be installed in the future.

    The responses to the survey have guided Council on the redevelopment of the playground located in Glyde Street Reserve, Beulah Park.

    Potential features

    Council sought opinion on the potential features of the playground and the most popular responses for the upgrade included:

    • swinging
    • climbing
    • sliding.

    What happens next?

    In line with Council's Playground Replacement Action Plan 2014-2024 this playground has been reviewed; community needs and future use considered.

    Council has reviewed the feedback and will be upgrading the playground equipment in this financial year. The works will involve the installation of a swing, rocker and a climbing cube with attached slide on rubber softfall.

    It is anticipated that the works will be completed by June 2017.
