** UPDATE **

The City of Burnside's new Strategic Community Plan, Burnside 2030, can be viewed here.

BACKGROUND

Help shape your community. City of Burnside's new Strategic Community Plan.

What should Council's future goals be? How should Council deliver them?

Every four years, local governments in South Australia are required by the Local Government Act (1999) to prepare a series of Strategic Management Plans that outline directions for Council services, programs, assets and finances.

One of these plans is Council's Strategic Community Plan that sets the broad goals for the Council area and the approaches that a Council would undertake to deliver them.

The Strategic Community Plan 2016 - 2020 Be the Future of Burnside is now due for review.

An important part of preparing the new Strategic Community Plan is understanding the community's opinions on factors that are influencing the Council area and need to be considered in the planning for future services, programs, infrastructure and assets to ensure that they are effective and relevant.

To start the conversation with the community, Council has used the following sources to identify the key trends that community feedback is being sought on:

  • The demographics of the City of Burnside
  • Mega trends occurring nationally and even internationally
  • South Australian Government priorities
  • The City of Burnside Annual Community Survey results.

Council is seeking your feedback on identified emerging trends, what you like about the City, and what could be improved.

Have your say via the online survey below. Please provide your feedback to Council by 5 pm Friday 7 February 2020.

What happens next?

Based on the feedback from this survey and the results of the 2019 Annual Community Survey, a new draft Strategic Community Plan will be prepared.

This draft document will be reviewed by Council before community feedback is sought on the draft Plan in early-mid 2020.
