** UPDATE **

The Tregenza Oval Master Plan was endorsed by Council on 27 July 2021. Phase 1 items will start to be implemented from 2021/22.

BACKGROUND:

In November 2020 the community was consulted on the development of a master plan that will provide holistic direction on the future of Tregenza Oval. A master plan will ensure that future maintenance and development options for the park are sensitive, planned, purposeful and complementary. It will also provide a basis for scheduling works in a financially sustainable way.

Based on feedback received, Council has developed a Draft Tregenza Oval Master Plan and is seeking feedback on the plan.

The following key sources were used to develop this draft plan:

  • Feedback from the earlier community consultation.
  • The demographics of the City of Burnside.
  • Trends occurring nationally.
  • Maintenance requirements.
  • Council’s strategic directions.

The Draft Master Plan includes a number of new additions to Tregenza Oval that, if the plan is supported by the community and endorsed by Council, could be implemented over subsequent financial years:

  • Trees to eastern edge of oval.
  • Trees, irrigation, lawn and picnic facilities to triangle section.
  • Ramp and stairs to improve safety when accessing the oval.
  • Fitness stations.
  • Basketball and netball goals.

The priorities have been set in a staggered manner, to ensure that there is sufficient budget to accommodate these over coming years. Items will be replaced or installed in line with Asset Management Plans or when budget is allocated through the annual budget process.
