The Youth Action Plan 2025 - 2029 received strong community support, with 89 per cent of respondents endorsing its key themes of civic engagement, mental health, and youth empowerment. A notable concern raised was the lack of indoor recreation facilities, prompting the inclusion of a new action to advocate for youth-friendly spaces. The Youth Action Plan 2025 - 2029 was endorsed by Council at their meeting on 19 August 2025.
The Plan provides a measurable framework to guide Council’s services, programs, and advocacy over the next four years. It positions Council to attract external funding and ensures young people remain central to the vision of a connected, safe, and active community.

The City of Burnside has put together a draft Youth Action Plan to help support young people aged 12–25 over the next four years. This is based on feedback from approximately 450 young people in 2024.
Now we want to make sure we’ve got it right — so tell us what you think!
