Have your say on our Precinct Plan for Eastwood
Ensuring our suburbs and transport networks are safe, accessible, liveable and meet the needs of the community is a priority for Council.
What is happening?
Council is undertaking a Local Area Study to understand transport safety, accessibility and liveability issues, concerns and opportunities in Eastwood.
Based on the result of the study, Council will develop a suburb specific Precinct Plan that highlights the actions Council intends to take to improve local transport safety, accessibility, and liveability.
The plans will expand on opportunities for improvements to the streetscape. These opportunities may include environmental initiatives such as increased plantings of trees and shrubs or introduction of additional water sensitive urban design; accessibility initiatives such as addressing Disability Discrimination Act requirements and improving pedestrian access to local parks, playgrounds and places of interest; active transport improvements, and/or general beautification/improvement of particular areas within the precinct.
Your feedback is key to identifying the current transport issues and other opportunities in the local area – and to ensure the Precinct Plan reflects the needs and wants of the local community.
In addition to liveability and connectivity in your suburb, the Local Area Study will examine the existing traffic, parking and road safety issues, including:
Traffic speed and unsafe driving.
Traffic volumes and through traffic.
Connectivity to local destinations.
Pedestrian/cyclist safety.
People of all abilities can travel (walk, drive, cycle) in the precinct.
Parking concerns.
Heavy vehicles on local streets.
